The BTB1905E is a five string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2017. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line.
The BTB1905E features neck through body construction with a figure maple top and back on ash wings attached to a graphite reinforced 9-piece wenge and bubinga neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and offset abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Aguilar DCB passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, stainless steel frets including a zero fret, Mono-rail bridges with 19mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
For 2018 the ash body wings were replaced with mahogany, the neck was changed to a 9-piece wenge, purpleheart and maple construction and the rosewood fretboard was replaced with panga panga.
The BTB1906E is a similar six string model. The BTB1805 is a related model with a rosewood top and back. The BTB1825 is a similar model with a walnut top and back.
The BTB1905E was replaced by the quite similar BTB1905 for 2019.
