The BTB1836 is a six string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2021. It is made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line.
The BTB1836 features neck through body construction with a bubinga top and back on ash wings attached to a graphite reinforced, nine-piece maple, bubinga and purpleheart neck with a 24-fret panga panga fingerboard with binding and offset abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Aguilar DCB passive pickups channeled through an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, stainless steel frets including a zero fret with Premium fret edge treatment, individually mounted Mono-rail VS bridges with adjustable 17mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
The BTB1835 is a five string version. The BTB1826 is a predecessor with a walnut top and back and a different neck construction.
