The BTB1826 is a six string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2018. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line. Prior to 2019 it was referred to as the BTB1826E in the US market. It replaced the BTB1806, which is a similar model with rosewood top, back and fretboard.
The BTB1826 features neck through body construction with a walut top and back on ash wings attached to a graphite reinforced, nine-piece wenge, purpleheart and maple neck with a 24-fret panga panga fingerboard with binding and offset abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Aguilar DCB passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, stainless steel frets including a zero fret with Premium fret edge treatment, Mono-rail bridges with 17mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
For 2019 the neck was changed to a seven-piece panga panga and purpleheart construction.
The BTB1825 is a similar five string model. The BTB1906 is a similar model with a flamed maple top.
The BTB1826 was discontinued after 2020. It was replaced by the BTB1836 which is similar but has a bubinga top and back and different neck construction.
