The BTB1805 is a five string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2017. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line. It was referred to as the BTB1805E in the US market.
The BTB1805 features neck through body construction with a rosewood top and back on ash wings attached to a graphite reinforced, nine-piece wenge, bubinga and maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and offset abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Aguilar DCB passive pickups channeled through an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, stainless steel frets including a zero fret with Premium fret edge treatment, individually mounted Mono-rail V bridges with 19mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
The BTB1806 is a six string version. The BTB1905E is a related model with a figured maple top and back.
The BTB1805 was offered only in 2017. It was replaced by the similar BTB1825 which has a walnut top and back and a panga panga fretboard.
