The BTB1605 is a five string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2015. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line. It was referred to as the BTB1605E in the US market.
The BTB1605 features neck through body construction with a poplar burl top on mahogany wings attached to a graphite reinforced, nine-piece wenge, bubinga and maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and offset abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Nordstrand "Big Single" passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, Premium fret edge treatment, individual Mono-rail bridges with 16.5mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a Graph Tech TUSQ nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
Controls consist of a global volume; balancer; individual bass, mid and treble EQ controls; a EQ bypass toggle; and a mid-frequency switch to select a 250Hz or 600Hz
The BTB1606 is a similar six string model.
The BTB1605 was discontinued after 2016.
