The BTB1405 is a five string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2013. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line. It was referred to as the BTB1405E in the US market.
The BTB1405 features neck through body construction with a flamed maple top on mahogany wings attached to a graphite reinforced, seven-piece maple, bubinga and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding, offset abalone dot position markers and Premium fret edge treatment. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Nordstrand "Big Single" passive pickups feeding an Ibanez EQB-IIISC preamp with a three-band EQ, individually mounted Mono-rail bridges with 16.5mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a Graph Tech Black TUSQ nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
Controls consist of a global volume; balancer; individual bass, mid and treble EQ controls; a EQ bypass toggle; and a mid-frequency switch to select a 250Hz or 600Hz
The BTB1406 is a similar six string model. The BTB1605 is a related model with a poplar burl top and a nine-piece neck construction
The BTB1405 was discontinued after 2015.
