The BTB1006 is a six string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2001. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The BTB1006 features flamed maple top and maple back on a mahogany body bolted to a maple and bubinga neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of DXP-6 passive pickups with a 3-band preamp with a Vari-mid three-band EQ, stainless steel frets, Mono-rail bridges with 17mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The BTB1000 is a similar four string model. The BTB1005 is a similar five string model.
The BTB1006 was discontinued after one year of production and replaced for the similar BTB1006E.
