The Artstar series is a line of semi-acoustic hollow body and semi-hollow body electric guitars produced for Hoshino Gakki and sold under the Ibanez brand. The Artstar name was first used in 1988; prior to that these models were considered part of the Artist series.
The Artstar series represents the high-end of Ibanez semi-acoustic guitars. The initial Artstar models were made in Japan with production in Korea added later. The series was discontinued after 2003 with the introduction of the Artcore United line. The Artstar brand was re-launched for 2013 and has been in production since.
