The Artcore United series is a line of semi-acoustic hollow body and semi-hollow body electric guitars produced for Hoshino Gakki and sold under the Ibanez brand. The Artcore United models were produced only in 2004.
These guitars were created in an interesting supply chain where Artcore bodies produced in China were shipped to FujiGen in Japan where they were mated to Japanese-made necks. Finishing and final assembly were handled by FujiGen. These dual citizen guitars are the only Japanese-assembled guitars to be sold under the Artcore banner.
The Artcore United series represented the high end of semi-acoustic instruments for 2004, replacing the Artstar series which was put on hiatus after 2003. The Artcore Custom series replaced the Artcore United as the flagship series for 2005.
