The AZS2209 is an AZS series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez for 2023. It is produced in Japan by FujiGen.
The AZS2209 features an ash body bolted to an S-Tech roasted maple neck with an S-Tech roasted maple fingerboard with 22 stainless steel frets, black dot position markers, and Luminlay side dots. Components include a Gotoh F1803 fixed bridge with In-Tune saddles, a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups with a Tele-style Alnico II Pro single coil mounted askew in a metal plate at the bridge and a Magic Touch mini-humbucker at the neck, a cream pickguard, a bone nut, and locking Gotoh tuning machines with height-adjustable posts.
The AZS2209 employs a dyna-MIX5 switching system (see diagram below) with an "Alter switch" toggle which allows the user to access five distinct tones. The controls consist of a single volume and tone, a 3-way lever pickup selector and the "Alter" toggle and are mounted in a curved metal control plate.
The AZS2209B is a similar model with a black pickguard. The AZS2209H is a similar predecessor with black fretboard inlays.
