The AZS2200 features an alder body bolted to an S-Tech roasted maple neck with an S-Tech roasted maple fingerboard with 22 stainless steel frets, abalone dot position markers, and Luminlay side dots. Components include a Gotoh T1802 tremolo bridge with pivots on 2 posts, a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups with a Tele-style Alnico II Pro single coil mounted askew in a steel plate at the bridge and a Magic Touch mini-humbucker at the neck, an oil-impregnated bone nut, and locking Gotoh tuning machines with height-adjustable posts.
The AZS2200 employs a dyna-MIX5 switching system (see diagram below) with an "Alter switch" toggle which allows the user to access five distinct tones. The controls consist of a single volume and tone, a 3-way lever pickup selector and the "Alter" toggle.
The AZS2200F and AZS2200Q are similar models with, respectively, flamed maple and quilted maple tops.
