The AZES or AZ Essentials line was introduced by Ibanez in September 2021. The initial AZES models are made in Indonesia. They were designed with Tomo Fujita a Berklee professor and YouTuber who previously taught John Mayer.

The AZES are essentially an adaptation of the AZ series to a more approachable price point. Fujita explained, "the philosophy behind this series is to bring the tone, versatility and, playability of this celebrated lineup to a wider array of beginner and intermediate players."

AZ Essentials are equipped with series-specific features and components such as a 250mm fingerboard radius, comfort round bridge saddles, and a Mono-unit output jack. They are designed to make the beginner’s learning process a streamlined, enjoyable and fun experience.
