The AZES40 is a solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2021. It is produced in Indonesia as part of the new AZES or "AZ Essentials" line which is an affordable extension of the AZ series.
The AZES40 features a poplar body bolted to a maple neck with a jatoba fingerboard and white dot position markers. Its slightly shorter 25-inch scale length makes the AZES ideal for younger or smaller players. Components include, a T106 non-locking tremolo bridge with comfort round steel saddles, an Accord humbucker at the bridge and a pair of Essentials single-coils in the middle and neck positions, and die-cast tuning machines. An "Alter" switch provides access to series-connected voices and more.
The AZES40L is a left-handed version. The AZES31 is a related model with a trio of single-coil pickups.
