The AZ24047 is a seven string AZ series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2021. It is produced in Japan by Fujigen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The AZ24047 features an alder body bolted to an S-Tech roasted maple oval C shaped neck with an S-Tech roasted maple fingerboard with 24 stainless steel frets, black dot position markers and Luminlay side dots. Components include Seymour Duncan Hyperion 7 pickups mounted in a black pickguard with a humbucker at the bridge and single-coils in the neck and middle positions, a Gotoh T1872S two-point synchronized tremolo bridge with titanium saddles made by Gotoh, a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut, an angled output jack and Gotoh locking tuning machines.
The AZ24047 employs a dyna-MIX9 switching system (see diagram below) with an "Alter switch" toggle which allows the user to access nine distinct tones. The Alter switch allows the player to access two modes with the single coils connected in series creating a tone similar to a second humbucker.
The AZ24027 is a similar model with a pair of humbucking pickups (HH pickup configuration). The AZ2204B is a visually similar six string model with a 22-fret neck.
