The AWD82 is an Artcore series hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2005. It was made in China.
The AWD guitars have an arched top, double-cutaway, semi-hollow body design with a modern shape vaguely reminiscent of a Fender Stratocaster or some of Ibanez's Roadstar II series models from the 1980s. It has an arched top and a flat back.
The AWD82 features an arched, laminated bubinga top with ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on maple back and sides mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and special "Kumogara" cloud design position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Artcore humbucking pickups with chrome covers mounted in ivory pickup rings, an integrated Short Stop III bridge and tailpiece, a plastic nut, speed knobs, and Ibanez tuning machines with half moon buttons.
The AWD82T is a similar model with a tremolo bridge. The AWD82LTD is a similar model with a maple top.
This AWD82 was discontinued after just one year in production and replaced with the AWD83.
