The AWB50CE is an Artwood bass series acoustic-electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2015. It was produced in China.
The AWB50CE features a dreadnought shaped body with a soft Venetian cutaway. The top is solid Sitka spruece with multi-wooden binding on laminated mahogany back and sides with a low gloss finish. The round soundhole has a rosewood rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a 34" scale, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a compensated plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge with black bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
Electronics consist of a Ibanez under saddle pickup connected to an Ibanez SPT Shape Shifter preamp with onboard tuner powered by a pair of AA batteries and fed to balanced XLR and ¼" stereo outputs.
For 2016 the electronics were changed to a Fishman Sonicore pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery.
The AWB50CE was discontinued in 2016.
