AW8412CE Weathered Black Open Pore
The AW8412CE is a twelve string Artwood series acoustic/electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid-2020. It was made in China.
The AW8412CE features a dreadnought body shape with a Venetian cutaway with a solid mahogany top with X bracing and mahogany back and sides with an open pore finish. The soundhole is round with a simple black and white acrylic rosette. It has an open pore finished mahogany neck with a 20-fret ovangkol fingerboard with small white dot position markers. Components include a bone saddle in an ovangkol bridge with black Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a bone nut, a black pickguard and chrome tuning machines. Electronics consist of a T-bar undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-TP2 preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
The AW84CE is a similar six string model. The AW5412CE is a similar model with a plastic nut and saddle.
This Chinese made version was discontinued after 2022; it was replaced for 2023 with a new version which was produced in Indonesia with some minor differences.
