The AW60 is an Artwood series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1979. It was hand-made in Japan.
The AW60 features a dreadnought body with solid sikta spruce top on mahogany back and sides. The round soundhole is trimmed with fancy rosette and a solid rosewood pickguard. The selected mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod has a 20-fret ebony fingerboard with pearl dot position markers and a rosewood headstock. Components include a Tru-Tune saddle on a ebony bridge, a bone nut and chrome velve tune machine heads.
For 1981 the machine heads was changed to Smooth tuner and the pickguard to tortoise shell color.
The AW60DM is a similar acoustic-electric model with "Dual Mix" system. The AW70 is a similar model with solid german spruce top. The AW80 is a similar model with rosewood back. The AW90 is a similar model with solid german spruce top and solid rosewood back.
