The AW54JR is an Artwood series medium scale acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2018. It was made in China.
The AW54JR features a dreadnought junior body shape with a solid mahogany top on mahogany back and sides with an open pore finish. The top features a spruce comfort forearm contour on the upper bout and a round soundhole with a simple black and white acrylic rosette. The 23.9" scale mahogany neck has a 20-fret ovangkol fingerboard with small white dot position markers. Components include an ivory plastic compensated saddle in an ovangkol bridge with black Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a plastic nut, a red tortoise pickguard and chrome tuning machines.
For 2019 the mahogany top, back and sides were replaced with okoume and the mahogany neck was replaced with nyatoh.
The AW5412JR is a twelve-string version. The AW50JR is a similar model with a Sitka spruce top. The AW54 is a full-sized version. The AW54MINI is an even smaller ¾-sized version.
This Chinese made AW54JR was discontinued after 2022; it was replaced for 2023 with a new version which was made in Indonesia with some minor differences.
