AW5412CE Open Pore Natural
The AW5412CE is a twelve string Artwood series acoustic/electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2018. It was made in China.
The AW5412CE features a dreadnought body shape with a Venetian cutaway with a solid mahogany top with X bracing on laminated mahogany sides and back with an open pore finish. The soundhole is round with a simple black and white acrylic rosette and a red tortoise pickguard. It has an open pore finished mahogany neck with a 20-fret ovangkol fingerboard with small white dot position markers. Components include an ivory plastic saddle in an ovangkol bridge with black Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome tuning machines. Electronics consist of a Fishman Sonicore pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
For 2019 the mahogany top, back and sides were replaced with okoume, the mahogany neck was replaced with nyatoh, the pickup was replaced with an Ibanez T-bar undersaddle pickup and the preamp was replaced with an Ibanez AEQ-TP2.
The AW54CE is a similar six string model. The AW8412CE is a similar model with a bone nut and saddle.
This Chinese made AW5412CE was discontinued after 2022; it was replaced for 2023 with a new model with the same name which was produced in Indonesia with minor differences.
