The AW54 is an Artwood series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2014. The AW54 was made in China through 2021; production moved to Indonesia for the 2022 model.
The AW54 features a dreadnought body shape with a solid mahogany top with X bracing on laminated mahogany sides and back with an open pore finish. The soundhole is round with a simple black and white acrylic rosette. It has an open pore finished mahogany neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with small white dot position markers. Components include an ivory plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge with black Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a plastic nut, a tortoise pickguard and chrome tuning machines.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard and bridge were replaced with ovangkol. For 2019 the mahogany top, back and sides were replaced with okoume and the mahogany neck was replaced with nyatoh. For 2022 the fretboard and bridge were replaced with laurel and the body and neck dimensions were changed slightly.
The AW54L is a left-handed version. The AW54CE is a similar acoustic/electric model with a cutaway body. The AW54MINI and AW54JR are slightly downsized shorter scale versions.
