The AW400CE is an Artwood series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2001. It was made in South Korea and was sold only in the USA.
The AW400CE features a dreadnought body shape with a solid Engelmann spruce top with binding and gloss finish on laminated mahogany sides and a solid mahogany back. The soundhole is round with an abalone rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with position marker only at the twelfth fret. Components include a compensated bone saddle in a rosewood bridge, a bone nut, a tortoise pickguard and chrome Grover open gear tuning machines with ivory buttons.
Electronics consist of a Fishman Acoustic Matrix under saddle pickup paired with a Fishman PREFIX PLUS EQ with an active brilliance control with a phase reversal switch and an adjustable notch filter powered by a 9V battery and connected to a ¼" stereo output.
The AW400 is an acoustic only version without the cutaway body.
