The AW120 is an Artwood series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2016. It is made in China and sold exclusively in China.
The AW120 features a dreadnought body shape with a solid spruce top on Macassar ebony back and sides with a high gloss finish. The soundhole is round with a simple black and white acrylic rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a 20-fret laurel fingerboard with binding and small white dot position markers. Components include a compensated bone saddle in a laurel bridge with black Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a bone nut, a black pickguard and chrome tuning machines.
For 2019 the mahogany neck was replaced with nyatoh. For 2020 the solid spruce top was replaced with laminated spruce and the laurel fretboard and bridge were replaced with walnut.
The AW120CE is an acoustic-electric version with a cutaway body. The AW100 is a similar model with sapele back and sides. The AW120Z is a similar acoustic/ electric model.
