The AW100 is an Artwood series acoustic model introduced by Ibanez for 1984. It was produced in Japan as part of the Pro-Special line
The AW100 features a dreadnought body with solid spruce top with maple and rosewood binding on ovangkol back and sides. The round soundhole is trimmed with wood marquetry purfling and abalone ring rosette and has a rosewood pickguard. The selected mahogany neck has a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers and a rosewood headstock. Components include Tru-Tune saddle on a rosewood bridge, a bone nut and chrome smoot tuner II machine heads.
For 1986 the neck material was changed to nato wood and the machine heads to Die-cast.
