The AVN9SPE is an Artwood Vintage series acoustic/electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2017. It was made in China.
The AVN9SPE features a parlor body shape with a solid Thermo Aged Sitka spruce top with Thermo Aged spruce X bracing and mahogany back and sides with a high gloss finish. The soundhole is round with a black and white multi rosette and the top is bordered with tortoiseshell binding. It has a satin finished soft-V shaped mahogany neck with an 18-fret ovangkol fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a bone saddle in an ovangkol bridge with black Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a bone nut and a slotted headstock with antique chrome Ibanez open gear tuning machines. Electronics include an AEQ-AP2 preamp with onboard tuner, a Fishman Sonicore undersaddle pickup, a 9V battery, and balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
For 2018 the AEQ-AP2 preamp was replaced with an AEQ-SP2. For 2019 the mahogany back and sides were replaced with okoume and the mahogany neck was replaced with nyatoh.
The AVN9 is a similar traditional acoustic model.
The AVN9SPE was discontinued after 2019.
