The AVD9CE is an Artwood Vintage series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2017. It was made in China.
The AVD9CE features a cutaway dreadnought body shape with a solid Thermo Aged Sitka spruce top with Thermo Aged spruce X bracing and mahogany back and sides with a high gloss finish. The soundhole is round with a black & white multi rosette and the top is bordered with tortoiseshell binding. It has a soft-V shaped mahogany neck with a 20-fret ovangkol fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a compensated bone saddle in an ovangkol bridge with black Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a bone nut, a red tortoise pickguard and chrome Ibanez open gear tuning machines. Electronics include an AEQ-AP2 preamp with onboard tuner, a Fishman Sonicore undersaddle pickup, a 9V battery, and balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
For 2018 the AEQ-AP2 preamp was replaced with an AEQ-SP2. For 2019 the mahogany back and sides were replaced with okoume and the mahogany neck was replaced with nyatoh.
The AVD9 is a traditional acoustic version. The AVC9CE is a similar model with a grand concert body shape with a mahogany/ okoume top and a shorter scale neck. The AVD11CE is a related model with a Caucasian spruce top w/ herringbone purfling and oil-impregnated bone nut and saddle.
The AVD9CE was discontinued after 2020.
