The AVC9CE is an Artwood Vintage series acoustic/electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2017. It is made in China.
The AVC9CE features a grand concert body shape with a solid Thermo Aged mahogany top with Thermo Aged spruce X bracing and tortoiseshell binding on mahogany back and sides with an open pore finish. The soundhole is round with a black & white multi rosette and a red tortoise pickguard. It has a soft-V shaped mahogany neck with a 20-fret ovangkol fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a compensated bone saddle in an ovangkol bridge with black Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a bone nut, and chrome Ibanez open gear tuning machines. Electronics include an AEQ-AP2 preamp with onboard tuner, a Fishman Sonicore undersaddle pickup, a 9V battery, and balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
For 2019 the AEQ-AP2 preamp was replaced with an AEQ-SP2. For 2019 the top was replaced with solid Thermo Aged okoume, the back and sides were replaced with okoume and the mahogany neck was replaced with nyatoh. For 2021 the body was very slightly enlarged.
The AVC9 is a traditional acoustic version. The AVD9CE is a similar model with a dreadnought body shape and slightly longer scale neck.
The AVC9CE was discontinued after 2021 along with the entire Artwood Vintage line.
