The bodies of these Artcore United guitars were produced in China and then shipped to FujiGen in Japan where the necks were produced and the instruments were finished and assembled.[1][2]
The AS193 features a full-sized, double-cutaway, semi-hollow body design with a laminated flamed maple top with ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on flamed maple back and sides mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and pearl and abalone split block position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 58 humbucking pickups with chrome covers and individual volume and tone controls, rosewood pickup rings, a bone nut, a Gibraltar III Tune-o-matic style bridge with a Quik Change tailpiece, Sure Grip II knobs, and Gotoh tuning machines with white buttons.
The AF195 is a related full-sized, full-hollow, single-cutaway model. The AG195 is a related, mid-sized, full-hollow, single cutaway model. These were the only three models in the short-lived, Japanese-made Artcore United line.
The AS193 was discontinued after 2004. It is believed that 141 AS193s were produced.[3]
