The AS50 is a hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1980. It was made in Japan by FujiGen. It is also referred to as the AS-50.

The AS50 features a semi-hollow, double cutaway body which is 15% smaller than the other AS models. It's more similar in size to the AM models which were introduced in 1982.

The AS50 has a laminated maple top with ƒ holes and ivory binding on maple back and sides with a hard rock maple center block mated to a set-in birch neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and pearl dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez V2 humbucking pickups with chrome covers and individual volume and tone controls, black pickup rings, a Tune-o-matic style ST bridge, a Quik Change tailpiece, a bone nut, a black pickguard, speed knobs, and VelveTune II machine heads.

Several changes were introduced for 1982 including a mahogany neck, Ibanez Super 58 pickups and Sure Grip knobs

The AS55 is a similar model with a V2 pickup at the bridge and a Super 58 at the neck. The AS100 is a related model with a larger body, ebony fretboard and different pickups.

The AS50 was discontinued after 1982. The somewhat similar AM50 (1982–1984) was introduced in 1982.
