The ARC series is a line of solid body electric guitar models produced by Hoshino Gakki and sold under the Ibanez brand.
The ARC models are based on the classic Ibanez Artist model, but have a single cutaway body shape with a rounded lower horn. The first ARC models were introduced in 2006 along with the ARX series as a more affordable alternative to the long-running double-cutaway Artist line.
As stated in the 2006 catalogs, the ARC is the first single cutaway Artist in 30 years, probably referring to the 1976 2676 model. Another single cutaway Artist subseries, the ART series, was introduced in 2007; it subsumed the ARC series in 2008. The ART models differ in that they have a sharply pointed lower horn.
In total, three ARC models were offered: the ARC100 and ARC300 in 2006 and 2007 and the top of the line ARC500 only in 2007. All ARC models feature a mahogany body with maple top, a set-in mahogany neck, a Gibraltar III bridge with Quik Change Ultra tailpiece and dual humbucking pickups.
