The AR250 is an Artist series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1980. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.
The AR250 features an carved ash double-cutaway body with German carve edges and cream binding mated to a set-in maple neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with cream binding and pearloid dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 80 humbucking pickups with gold covers mounted in black pickup rings with individual volume and tone controls, a Gibraltar Tune-o-matic style bridge, a Quik Change tailpiece with an ornamental scalloped plate, rubberized Sure Grip control knobs and VelveTune machine heads. A Tri-sound switch allows the neck pickup to be either coil split or reversed phase.
The 2617 is a similar predecessor without the Tri-sound switch and with split block fretboard inlays. The AR200 is a related model with a mahogany body and maple top.
