The Ibanez APEX series is a signature series of seven-string guitars created by Korn's guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer. They are newer and modified versions of the Ibanez K7.
The APEX1 comes in the unique textured Biker's Black finish. The APEX2 is a more affordable version of the Apex1. They each come factory tuned to Korn's signature tuning: A,D,G,C,F,A,D. These guitars are known for producing a deep metallic sound, due to the tuning for Munky's low-end crunch. The Apex100 has replaced the Apex1 in 2011. The Apex100 has a body made of Alder unlike the previous Apex models that were made from Mahogany.
