The APEX2 is a seven string solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2007. It is a signature guitar created for James "Munky" Shaffer, guitarist for the American band Korn and is part of Shaffer's APEX series. The APEX2 is produced in Indonesia.
The APEX2 features an RG-style mahogany body bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and no inlays except an APEX script on the 12th fret. Components include dual DiMarzio PAF 7 humbucking pickups and a Tone Pros 7 fixed bridge with through-body string routing.
The APEX2 was discontinued after 2013.
