The APEX20 is a seven-string solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2014. It is a signature model of American guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer, known for his work with the nu metal band Korn, and a part of Munky's APEX series. It was produced in Indonesia.
The APEX20 is a more affordable version of the APEX200 which was released the same year. The design of both is inspired by a Universe series guitar which Shaffer used in the early days of Korn.
The APEX20 has an RG series basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with no inlays. Components include DiMarzio Blaze pickups with a humbucker at the bridge and a single-coil at the neck mounted in a satin aluminum pickguard and a Gibraltar Standard II-7 hard-tail bridge.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with jatoba.
The APEX20 was discontinued after 2019 in favor of the new APEX30.
