The AM83 features a medium-sized, double-cutaway, semi-hollow body design with a laminated flamed sycamore top with ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on flamed sycamore back and sides mated to a set-in mahogany neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and white dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 58 humbucking pickups with chrome covers and individual volume and tone controls, a Tune-o-matic style bridge with a Quik Change tailpiece, a plastic nut, Sure Grip III knobs, a black bakelite pickguard and Ibanez tuning machines.
The AM83LTD is a similar model with block fretboard inlays and a cream pickguard. The AM93 is a related model with a quilted maple body, mahogany and maple neck, and gold hardware.
The AM83 was produced only in 2015 and was offered only in Japan.
