The AM50 is a hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1990. It was made in South Korea by Yoojin as part of the Artstar series.
The AM50 features a compact, semi-hollow, double cutaway body design with an arched, maple top with ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on maple back and sides with a maple center block mated to a set-in mahogany neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and pearloid dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez standard humbucking pickups with chrome covers and individual volume and tone controls, black plastic pickup rings, a Tune-o-matic style bridge, a stop tailpiece, a plastic nut, a black pickguard, speed knobs, and Ibanez tuning machines.
The AM80 is a similar model with natoh back and sides, only a single ƒ hole, a single volume and tone control, and no pickguard. The AS50 is a similar model with a larger body.
The AM50 was discontinued after 1993.
