The AK series is a line of hollow body electric guitars produced for Hoshino Gakki and sold under the Ibanez brand. The AK body type is a mid-sized, full-hollow, electric guitar body with a single Venetian cutaway with a pointy horn. The AK body was introduced for 2003.
The initial AK model was the AK85. The AK line was in production consistently with a number of variations from 2003 until 2020. As of January 2020 there are no current AK models in the lineup.
