The AKJ85 is an Artcore series hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2012. It was made in China.
The AKJ85 features a thick, full-hollow body design with a laminated flamed maple top with ƒ holes and cream multi-binding on flamed maple back and sides with a single pointed Florentine cutaway mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with cream binding and pearl block position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Artcore humbucking pickups with chrome covers and individual volume and tone controls, an ART-W bridge with rosewood saddle and base, a trapeze tailpiece, a plastic nut, a bakelite pickguard, Sure Grip III knobs, and Ibanez tuning machines.
The AFJ85 is a similar model with a spruce top and a rounded Venetian cutaway.
The AKJ85 was discontinued after just a single year in production. It was replaced by the similar AKJ95.
