The AK84 is a hollow body acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2006. It was made in China as part of the Artcore series.
The AK84 features a thick, full-hollow body design with a laminated spruce top with ƒ holes and cream multi-binding on flamed maple back and sides with a single pointed Florentine cutaway mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with cream binding and pearl block position markers. Components include an ART-W bridge with wooden saddle and base, a wood-decorated VT100DX tailpiece, a plastic nut, a spruce pickguard with matching finish, and Ibanez tuning machines.
The AK86 is a related model with a pair of humbucking pickups. The AK80A is a similar model with dot fretboard inlays which was introduced in 2009.
