The AGS83BZ is an Artcore series hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2007. It was produced in China. It is a spot model which didn't appear in any catalogs; it may have been an exclusive model for US retailers Guitar Center and Musician's Friend.
The AGS83BZ features a slim, mid-sized, semi-hollow body design with an arched laminated flamed maple top with ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on flamed maple back and sides with a single Venetian cutaway mated to a set-in mahogany neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with black binding and pearloid block position markers. The neck joint is at the 17th fret; combined with the deep cutaway this increases upper fret access. Components include a pair of Ibanez Artcore humbucking pickups with cosmo black covers and individual volume and tone controls, a Tune-o-matic style bridge, a Quik Change tailpiece, a plastic nut, speed knobs, and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2008 the nut color was changed from ivory to black.
The AGS83BZ mates the single-cutaway body of the AG75 to the semi-hollow construction of the AS73. The AGS83B is a similar model with different fretboard inlays.
The AGS83BZ was discontinued after 2009.
