The AFJ81 is an Artcore series hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2012. It was made in China.
The AFJ81 features a thick, full-hollow body design with a laminated spruce top with ƒ holes and cream multi-binding on maple back and sides with a single rounded Venetian cutaway mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with cream binding and pearl block position markers. Components include a single Ibanez Artcore humbucking pickup with gold cover, an ART-W bridge with rosewood saddle and base, a tailpiece with a basswood cover, a plastic nut, a bakelite pickguard with walnut veneer, Sure Grip III knobs, and Ibanez tuning machines.
The AFJ85 is a similar model with a pair of pickups.
The AFJ81 was discontinued after just a single year in production. It was replaced by the AFJ91 which is similar but has the controls mounted on the pickguard.
