The AFC151 is a hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2017. It was part of the Contemporary Archtop series, but was folded into the Artstar series when the Contemporary Archtop designation was discontinued after 2019. It was initially made in China, but production moved to Indonesia for 2019.
The AFC151 features a thick, single cutaway, full-hollow body design with a laminated spruce top with ƒ holes and flamed maple binding and flamed maple back and sides mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 20-fret ebony fingerboard with binding and mother of pearl offset block position markers. Components include a single, floating Ibanez Magic Touch-Mini humbucking pickup with gold cover mounted at the neck, a floating ebony bridge with compensated ebony saddle and a trapeze tailpiece with a wooden cover, a plastic nut, a black pickguard and Ibanez tuning machines with black buttons.
For 2019 the mahogany and maple neck was changed to nyatoh and maple. For 2021 the fretboard material was changed to Macassar ebony.
The AFC155 is a similar model with a second pickup.
A new finish "Tobacco Brown" was offered in late 2021 exclusively for Shimamura Music in Japan.[1]
