The AF85 is an Artcore series hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2003. It was produced in China.
The AF85 features a full-hollow body design with a laminated flamed maple top with ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on flamed maple back and sides with a single Venetian cutaway mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and abalone block position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Artcore humbucking pickups with chrome covers and individual volume and tone controls, a Tune-o-matic style bridge on a wooden base, a chrome tailpiece, ivory plastic nut and pickup rings, a flamed sycamore pickguard, speed knobs, and Ibanez tuning machines.
The AF85L is a left-handed version. The AF84E is a related model with a single, floating humbucker neck pickup. The AF84 is a related fully-acoustic model with no electronics. The AF75 & AF75D are similar models with maple bodies and one-piece necks.
The AF85 was discontinued after 2005. The similar AF86 was introduced the following year.
