The AEW51 is an AEW series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2015. It was produced in China.
The AEW51 features a grand concert shaped body with a soft Florentine cutaway. The top is laminated spruce with multi wooden purfling on rosewood, spalted maple and walnut mosaic back and sides with a high gloss finish. The round soundhole has a rosewood and spalted maple rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a dovetail neck joint and a 25½" scale, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with maple position markers only at the twelfth fret and a headstock with a specially designed inlay. Components include a plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge, black plastic bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines with black buttons.
Electronics consist of a Fishman Sonicore pickup, an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
The AEW16LTD is a related model with spalted maple and walnut mosaic top, back and sides. The AEW40AS is a related model with a figured ash body. The AEW40CD is a related model with a walnut body. The AEW40ZW is a related model with a zebrawood body.
The AEW51 was discontinued after 2018.
