The AEW23ZW is an AEW series acoustic-electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2015. It was produced in China.
The AEW23ZW features a grand concert shaped body with a soft Florentine cutaway. The top is laminated spruce with multi wooden purfling with rosewood binding on zebrawood sides and a two-piece back with wooden multi strip inlay. The finish is a natural high gloss. The round soundhole has a zebrawood, abalone and wooden rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a dovetail neck joint and a 25½" scale, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with maple dot position markers. Components include a plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge, black plastic bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines with black buttons.
Electronics consist of a Fishman Sonicore pickup, an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
The AEW23MV is a similar model with movingui back and sides. The AEW22CD is a related model with cordia or walnut back, sides and top inlay. The AEW40ZW is a related model with a zebrawood top.
The AEW23ZW was discontinued after 2017.
