AEL15E Transparent Hibiscus Red Sunburst 2013–2014(more images)
The AEL15E is an AEL series acoustic-electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2010. It was produced in China.
The AEL15E features a jumbo-sized AEL body with a Venetian cutaway constructed of a laminated spruce top with black and white multi-binding on maple back and sides with a gloss finish. The round soundhole has a pearloid rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include an Ivorex II compensated saddle in a rosewood bridge, Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, an Ivorex II nut, and chrome Ibanez Smooth Tuner AS die-cast tuning machines.
Electronics consist of an Ibanez undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez SPT-II preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and feeding balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
For 2013 the preamp was changed to the Ibanez SPT Shape Shifter and the nut and saddle were changed to plastic.
The AEL1512E is a twelve string version. The AEL15LE is a left-handed version. The AEL20E is a related model with flamed maple or flamed sycamore top and different electronics.
