The AEG70 is an AEG series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2020. It is produced in China.
The AEG70 features a thinner grand concert shaped body with a soft Venetian cutaway. The top is laminated flamed maple with black and white binding on sapele back and sides with a high gloss finish. The round soundhole has a black & white acrylic rosette. It has a satin-finish nyatoh neck with a 25" scale, 20-fret walnut fingerboard with small white dot position markers. Components include a plastic saddle in a walnut bridge, Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines. Electronics consist of an Ibanez T-bar II undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-TTS preamp with onboard tuner and LCD display powered by a 9V battery and ¼" stereo output jack.
The body length was changed slightly for 2022. A new Purple Iris Burst High Gloss finish was offered in some markets from 2023. For 2024 the name of the neck profile was changed, but the dimensions remained unchanged. For 2025 the fretboard and bridge were changed to rosewood.
The AEG70L is a left-handed version. The AEG50 and AEG62 are related models with, respectively, spruce and sapele tops.
