The AEG6TN is a nylon-string acoustic guitar introduced by Ibanez in 2005. It was produced in China as part of the AEG series.
The AEG6TN features a thin grand concert shaped body with a soft Venetian cutaway constructed of a laminated agathis top (with exception of CDN finish, see below) with black and white binding on laminated agathis sides and back. The round soundhole has a hologram rosette. It has a satin-finish mahogany neck with a slotted headstock and a 25" scale, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with only side position markers. Components include a plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez classical-style tuning machines.
Electronics consist of a Fishman Sonicore pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-SP1 preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and feeding ¼" stereo output jack.
For 2006 a version with a laminated cedar top referred to as the AEG6TN-CDN was introduced. For 2008 the top was changed to laminated spruce (except for the CDN finish) and the back and sides were changed to mahogany.
The AEG6 is a similar steel-stringed model.
The AEG6TN was discontinued after 2014.
