The AEG62 is an AEG series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2020. It is produced in China.
The AEG62 features a thinner grand concert shaped body with a soft Venetian cutaway. The top is laminated sapele with black and white binding on laminated sapele back and sides with a high gloss finish. The round soundhole has a black & white acrylic rosette. It has a satin-finish nyatoh neck with a 25" scale, 20-fret walnut fingerboard with special white acrylic diamond position markers. Components include a plastic saddle in a walnut bridge, Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines. Electronics consist of an Ibanez T-bar II undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-TTS preamp with onboard tuner and LCD display powered by a 9V battery and feeding a ¼" stereo output jack.
For 2024 the name of the neck profile was changed, but the dimensions remained unchanged. For 2025 the fretboard and bridge were changed to rosewood.
The AEG61 is a related model with okoume construction, laurel fretboard and bridge and AEQ-TP2 preamp. The AEG200 is a related model with a solid Sitka spruce top and bone nut and saddle. The AEG50 and AEG70 are related models with, respectively, spruce and flamed maple tops and different fretboard inlays.
