The AEG61 is an AEG series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2022. It was produced in China.
The AEG61 features a thinner grand concert shaped body with a soft Venetian cutaway. The top is laminated okoume with black and white binding on okoume back and sides with a high gloss finish. The round soundhole has an abalone rosette. It has a satin-finish nyatoh neck with a 25" scale, 20-fret laurel fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a plastic saddle in a laurel bridge, Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines. Electronics consist of an Ibanez T-bar undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-TP2 preamp with onboard tuner and LCD display powered by a 9V battery and balanced XLR and ¼" stereo outputs.
For 2024 the name of the neck profile was changed, but the dimensions remained unchanged.
The AEG51 is a similar model with a spruce top. The AEG62 is a related model with sapele construction, walnut fretboard with diamond inlays, walnut bridge and AEQ-TTS preamp.
The AEG61 was discontinued after 2024.
